CleverCoder License Agreement

Beta version · Last updated: October 12, 2026

This isn't a contract full of fine print. It's written to be understood.

1. What you're buying

You're buying a monthly subscription to CleverCoder, not the program itself. It costs USD 9.99 a month, paid with PayPal, and renews automatically each period until you cancel. You can use it on up to 2 of your own machines.

There is also a free license, with the same features, for use that is not paid work or work for a company: personal use, study and non-profit organizations. It does not allow commercial use; it lasts 36 weeks and renews. You request it with your email, which you confirm with a 6-digit PIN: we do not ask for documents. And you can use CleverCoder for 3 days without registering before you decide. The paid subscription does include commercial use. The full conditions are in the Terms of Service.

If you cancel or the charge fails, the license keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, plus 7 more days of margin. After that the app stops opening; you will still be able to open your folders and export your work.

2. This is a beta

CleverCoder is under active development. It's going to have bugs, and some things are going to change. We ship fixes often and the app tells you when a new version is ready to install.

If something breaks, write to us. If you can't work because of something on our end, we want to know.

3. Your code is yours

We don't touch your code. We don't copy it, we don't upload it, we don't look at it. Everything CleverCoder does with your files happens on your machine.

To activate a license or request the free one we ask for your email address: it is required, and without it the program does not go on (during the 3 days without registering it is not needed). With that email, a machine identifier, the type of key you used (purchase, free, Pro code, beta, master key or the 3 days without registering), the program version, the time and an anti-spam signature, the program leaves an install notice saved on your own machine; today that notice is not sent to any server.

With a purchased license, CleverCoder also checks with our server when you open it and, while it stays open, every 24 hours. It sends your license (which carries your email address, your subscription number, the plan and its expiry) and a machine identifier computed with a hash, not Windows' original identifier. That is the minimum needed to know on how many machines your license is active. If there is no connection, the program keeps opening for up to 7 days after the last successful check; the first time on each machine needs a connection. When you open it with a connection, if your license is about to expire or has already expired, it also asks the server for the renewed one; the server only renews it if your subscription is still paid, so if you cancelled or stopped paying, it is not renewed.

With a free license, the program connects to our server only to request it, to renew it when it is about to expire and to redeem a Pro code. When you request it we receive your email and whether you want to receive emails; to confirm your email we send you a 6-digit PIN.

What does leave your machine is detailed, item by item, in the Privacy Policy — the full list lives there, we don't repeat it here.

4. The AI assistants belong to someone else

CleverCoder works with assistants from other companies: Claude, DeepSeek, and whichever ones you add. When you send them something, you're sending it to them, under their own rules and their own prices.

We don't control what they do with it, and we're not responsible for what they answer. Read their terms: they're the ones receiving your text.

And this is worth saying plainly: code an AI writes needs to be reviewed. CleverCoder helps you coordinate them; it doesn't guarantee what they produce is right.

5. What you can't do

If any of that happens, the license gets cancelled with no refund.

6. Refunds

14 days from the first purchase of each plan. If it's not working for you, write to support@clevercoder.app from the email you bought with and we'll refund the payment through PayPal, to the same payment method. When we refund your first purchase we also cancel your subscription, so you are not charged again. You don't need to explain anything.

Renewals are not refunded, except for a charge made by mistake (for example, a duplicated charge or one made after you cancelled), which is refunded in full. If a payment is refunded to you and your subscription is no longer active, that license is voided: it keeps opening until it expires and does not renew again. Refunding a charge made by mistake, while the subscription is active, does not void the license.

7. How far we're responsible

We do this carefully, but CleverCoder is delivered as-is. We can't guarantee it runs without issues on every machine or in every case.

If something goes wrong on our end, we're liable for, at most, what you paid. We're not liable for lost work, time, or profits that didn't happen.

Back up your work. That's true with any tool, not just this one.

8. Changes to this agreement

If we change something important, we publish it here with the updated date and announce it in the release notes. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription. Refunds are those of section 6: 14 days from the first purchase of each plan; renewals are not refunded, except for a charge made by mistake.
